The Kindling and the Hearth /\ RSVP for Saturday

The Kindling & The Hearth

Community Call this Saturday 2/7/26 @ 10am PST

This newsletter will outline February's theme of The Kindling and the Hearth, invite you to this Saturday's free Community Call, and at the end you can find some info on our memberships.

You may want to read if you've been feeling super low, withdrawn, or overwhelmed... and yet you're seeing we're supposed to turn into fire horses all of a sudden (cue the memes of horses running on the beach in freedom)! We're gonna hopefully offer you some insight and opportunity to find more awake aliveness that aligns with how the body works when it's needing to wake up to life again.

Thank you for taking the time to read and connect with us!

Dear Reader,

The Kindling and the Hearth is an exploration of what brings us back to life — and how we create the internal and external conditions that allow inspiration, energy, and participation to take root.

When the world feels too small, too much, or unsafe, our fire dims.
Not because something is wrong with us.
But because fire needs the right conditions to live.

This month, we’ll focus on noticing what enlivens us — and building a hearth where that aliveness can be tended and sustained. Why? Because you're needed.

As the Lunar New Year opens into the Year of the Fire Horse, we’re meeting an archetype of life-force in motion, vitality, and forward momentum. But fire without a hearth scatters. Movement without safety exhausts. (And metaphors without a real understanding of how we function just don't seem to land as well as they could!)

This month, we’re not just lighting a fire —
we’re learning how to build the place where it can live.

A few orienting questions we’ll work with:

• What conditions does my aliveness need right now?
• What would make life feel safer to have wants?
• What kind of environment would let this energy stay?
• If my fire were wise, what would it ask for?

If We Don't Feel Ready to Come Alive

It's important to note: We’re not treating low energy or shut down as a personal shortcoming.

We’re learning to notice when our fire is responding intelligently to the conditions around us. When environments are too small, too rushed, or too unsafe, aliveness can recede. It's supposed to.

If you’re currently feeling dim, numb, withdrawn, or heavy: it may be that your system is asking you to pause the output of creating and input of consuming, and digest life. That is valid. There are practices in the container that support this phase (Feeling Moved vs. Feeling Stuck is a good place to land, as well as the Grounding series inside The Art of the Practice).

You may also be experiencing so very threat of danger or danger itself with what's happening in many of our cities here in America. The news and Epstein files may be triggering real events that took place in your body. Be gentle with yourself. Give yourself space to listen to what your body needs when you create some absence from the outside noise.

When you begin to feel ready to come alive again, we start with identifying the kindling, and a hearth where that fire can live without being consumed. Let's melt some of that ice.

Kindling is the small, honest stuff:
songs
colors
flavors
poems
sunlight
movement
beauty in the environment
friends who feel like possibility

Being with energizing frequencies is often what gently turns the system back on.

And because we’re big on containers over here — if we’re building a fire, we’re also building a hearth.

The hearth is where you notice something in your body feels comfortable to come alive.
Where there is resonance and coherence.
Where people add kindling and air instead of taking oxygen away.
Where aliveness is reinforced.

This month inside our weekly integration practices, we’ll be working with:

• Tropisms
• Relationships
• Cultural kindling

Small sparks.
Small shifts.
Small and mighty beginnings.

Community Call

This Saturday we’ll be opening our February theme:

The Kindling and the Hearth

An exploration of what brings us back to life — and how we create the conditions that allow aliveness to stay.

We’ll begin by orienting to:

• Kindling — the small sparks that ignite energy
• Hearth — the places and relationships where fire can live
• Environmental vs. personal aliveness
• Working gently with nervous systems that are tired, overwhelmed, or shut down

Please bring:

🕯 A candle
🔥 A match or lighter

If you’re feeling low-energy, numb, or uncertain — you’re welcome exactly as you are.

We’re not forcing fire.
We’re listening for what wants to flicker, and then helping you fan the embers.

With deep love & appreciation,

Beyond all polarities, I am. Dear Reader, "Beyond all polarities, I am." — Ram Dass I was at an East Forest show last night at the Rio in Santa Cruz with a group of beautiful humans. Before the show started, we talked about how important it is to just be — to find time to sit. Not with your phone. With the birds. The stars. The trees. The energy of people in the street, or the turkeys in the meadow. (This happened to be a predominant message running through the show, and where the Ram Dass...
