You've had the insight. So why hasn't it landed? l RSVP for Saturday
You've done the work. You've had the insight. So why doesn't it feel like it's landed yet?
Maybe you threw yourself into the change all at once and burned out. Maybe you're still circling the same lesson, wondering when it's finally going to stick, and not realizing the lesson is repeating but on deeper rung of the life spiral. Maybe you cracked something open — in a session, a retreat, a conversation — and now you're not sure what to do with what you found.
This is the titration moment. The place between knowing and becoming.

March had been all about distilling the medicine: refining the story, expressing the emotion, letting the heat of that emotion clarify the lesson. In April, we drink it. Slowly. Intentionally. We practice life with more essence present.
Our work with distillation creates the medicine and the space to notice its effect. Titration is the reminder that realizing what the lesson is is just the beginning. The real work is in the noticing — letting ourselves interface with what we're learning, a little at a time, so we're not retraumatizing ourselves into growth. Instead, we baby-step our way forward until we realize: the baby step was the massive moment of growth.
We've worked with titration before (December, 2024's module Integration is a Birthday & a Funeral, releasing in TIC's Integration Teachings and Practices this Friday) — last time, pacing our desires, learning to see the picture and puzzle-piecing it together. This time, we turn that same slow intention toward integrating with the lesson to create the desired effect.

Like anchoring — another theme we explored in January — titration is a form of stability and safety. But where anchoring grounds us into what already feels safe, titration updates us into what will create more security. And that change, even when it's good, can feel scary. So we go slowly. We do a little, and notice. A little more, and notice.
The Titration Wound
Think about the moments in life when you know what you need to do but you either avoid it or overdo it. That's the titration wound. Some entry points:
The overwhelm angle:
You've had the breakthrough. The insight. The revelation. And then… nothing changes. Or everything changes at once and it's too much.
The impatience angle:
You know what you need to learn. You just want to already know it.
The self-abandonment angle:
You keep giving yourself the whole dose at once — throwing yourself into change, burning out, starting over.
The "so close but stuck" angle:
You can see who you're becoming. You just can't seem to close the distance.
The integration angle:
The therapy, the retreat, the journal, the conversation that cracked something open — and now you're not sure what to do with what you found.
Taking Your Own Medicine
Your medicine brings you into deeper relationship with your essence. It's a dose of something you practice, a little bit, every day.
Some relational themes that may be your medicine:
Presence & Pacing: Tuning in, slowing down & feeling 'enoughness.'
Heart & Connection: The many ways of practicing love & compassion, for yourself, for others and those who are different.
Courage & Growth: Taking the risk, living the boundary & letting yourself receive and be seen.
Mind & Story: Curiously moving from the old story to the new one.
Trust & Surrender: Letting go of the outcome while believing you're enough.
Embodiment & Action: Bringing the lesson into practice, brain-heart-gut-hands-feet.
Because too much too soon doesn't accelerate learning — it overwhelms it. Titration creates the conditions for something sustainable.
A little at a time isn't the slow path. It's the only path.Dose. Notice. Adjust. Become what you are.
With deep patience and compassion for our evolution,

The infinity container Happy Birthday Nana JoySee Dear Reader, Tomorrow is my mentor and fairy god-mama, Nana JoySee's birthday! So we of course wanted to release another chapter from her book, Our Relationships with Our Children & the Child in All of Us. Nana JoySee has been in practice for over 60 years as a clinical psychologist. Her beliefs are summed up beautifully below: All of our experiences are relational, and that since our unresolved past still lives in us, we always have the...
Beyond all polarities, I am. Dear Reader, "Beyond all polarities, I am." — Ram Dass I was at an East Forest show last night at the Rio in Santa Cruz with a group of beautiful humans. Before the show started, we talked about how important it is to just be — to find time to sit. Not with your phone. With the birds. The stars. The trees. The energy of people in the street, or the turkeys in the meadow. (This happened to be a predominant message running through the show, and where the Ram Dass...
